Not sure if you've seen this or not, but I think it very much applies to the point of this blog and the struggles of newspapers, specifically the sports section. It's an article by Bill Simmons chronicling the change in access to players and teams for reporters and the ability for players and teams to simply communicate with fans themselves through their own web sites, twitter and the like.

This 'future issue' is an ongoing problem all computer network people face daily (for that matter, so to people working with electricity). How do we keep up with expanding demand? The answer is there are many companies already working on it. While there may be brownouts, as a computer person I don't think it will be as bad as predicted. Which leads me to a question - is this article 'news'? Have there been brownouts? If so, how many? These types of 'fear articles' may disappear if the newspaper becomes extinct. If so, I say good riddance.
